How you can make a difference today!

Here are several excellent ways that you can join the fight today against global poverty and AIDS, and make a big impact in just a few minutes!

First, you can help children around the globe every time you search the internet. Simply by using the Click For The Cause search page, Microsoft will contribute to ninemillion.org for every search and click.  ninemillion.org is a UN agency-led campaign providing education and sports programs for the nine million refugee youth around the world.

You can help make poverty history by joining the One Campaign to Fight Global AIDS and Poverty – at one.org.

Help orphans in India and throughout the world on World Orphans Day.

Visit Global Action for Children – 20 million children will never get to say ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ again: That’s how many children will have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS by 2010. Millions more children will be orphaned by other causes. You can help support the fight against this – it doesn’t have to happen.

About Shelley Seale

I'm Shelley, a journeyer and learner of the world, freelance journalist and author, yoga chick and dog lover. I pound the keyboard from home barefoot every day, and while my boss is demanding she also occasionally lets me have the early afternoon cocktail. I think not going into an office or collecting corporate paychecks are very good ideas, though not always profitable. I have written for National Geographic, USA Today, The Guardian, Texas Monthly and CNN, among others. Neither the New York Times nor Johnny Depp have answered my letters yet. I love yoga, indie movies, wine, and books, though not necessarily in that order. I believe in karma. Mean people suck. If I could have any dream job I would like to be a superhero. I have performed a catch on the flying trapeze, boarded down a live volcano and was once robbed by a monkey in Nepal. But, I don't know how to whistle. My mantra is "travel with a purpose."
